Lifetime Policies – Premier, Classic, Vital
Lifetime Cover is also known as Cover for Life, Renewable Benefit or Reinstatement Policies.
This is the most comprehensive form of pet insurance and offers vet fees cover up to a maximum amount and this is reinstated each year.
It means that if your pet develops a long term chronic illness such as diabetes or an ongoing skin condition it will be covered for the rest of your pet’s life as long as the illness or condition was not present before the start of the policy.
Pet Life Cover offers three types of Lifetime Policy: “Premier”, “Classic” and “Vital”
- Premier has a maximum benefit of £6000 which is reinstated each year
- Classic has a maximum benefit of £4000 which is reinstated each year but within that limit you can only claim £1000 for any one condition each year. The £1000 is also reinstated each year which means that the condition remains covered for the life of the policy.
- Vital has a maximum benefit of £2000 which is reinstated each year but within that limit you can only claim £500 for any one condition each year. The £500 is also reinstated each year which means that the condition remains covered for the life of the policy.
In addition to vet fees, the policies also include other benefits, for example Third Party Liability (for dogs), accidental death, theft and straying, and costs towards finding a missing pet.
